JROTC

 

Prince William County Public Schools JROTC hosts programs for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines at nine high schools. These leadership education programs are designed to teach leadership skills, character development, self-discipline, and citizenship. Students are encouraged to enter the program in the ninth grade in order to receive the full benefits of the four-year program.

Navy JROTC Course Sequence

NAVY JROTC I (NJROTC I)

Grades:  9-11

Credit: 1
Prerequisite: Student must be able to participate in physical education program, dress in regulation uniform and meet and maintain the personal grooming standards

NAVY JROTC III (NJROTC III)

Grades: 11-12
Credit: 1
Prerequisite: Student must be able to participate in physical education program, dress in regulation uniform and meet and maintain the personal grooming standards. Successful completion of NJROTC II

NAVY JROTC II (NJROTC II)

Grades: 10-12
Credit: 1
Prerequisite: Student must be able to participate in physical education program, dress in regulation uniform and meet and maintain the personal grooming standards. Successful completion of NJROTC I

NAVY JROTC IV (NJROTC)

Grades: 10-12
Credit: 1
Prerequisite: Student must be able to participate in physical education program, dress in regulation uniform and meet and maintain the personal grooming standards. Successful completion of NJROTC III

 


Scholarship Information

Reserve Officers' Training Corps and military academy scholarships may be available for qualified students.



PSHS Information

Potomac Senior High School NJROTC, a distinguished unit, was established in 1995. The regiment, which boasts a cadre of about 150 students, is exceptionally competitive in athletics, drill, orienteering, brain brawl, air rifle marksmanship, and academic competitions. The unit actively participates in Basic Leadership Training and other Area events.
