April 2020

Dear Students and Parents,

The unexpected school closure caused by the global pandemic surrounding COVID-19 has caused significant adjustments at the school level to continue to provide our students with a world-class education. I am aware that we have a small number of semester-long courses that were particularly impacted because of the lack of time the students had to learn basic concepts and information for courses that were just beginning in late January. Keeping that information in mind, I am requesting that teachers of specified courses distribute this letter and the information below to address their semester-long courses.

  • • Effective immediately, students enrolled in semester-long courses receiving this letter will be removed from the course. No grade will be entered for the course and students will not be penalized in any way. The course will not be reflected on the transcript.
  • • Impacted students will have the opportunity to be re-enrolled for the course during the 20-21 school year.
  • • Impacted students may also have the opportunity to complete the course via PWCS Summer School. More information for PWCS Summer School will be available via the PWCS website.
  • • Impacted students/families are encouraged to reach out to their School Counselor using the QR code below if they have specific scheduling questions regarding this change.

Thank you once again for your flexibility and patience as we work to provide solutions to our families during this unprecedented closure. We look forward to providing as much support as possible to our students, families, and community – please visit the Potomac HS website regularly for more updates.

Sincerely,

Brandon Boles, Principal
