PWCS SAT scores exceed the national mean

Just released: state and national SAT score reports. PWCS students continue to excel

The College Board SAT score reports have been released and show that Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) students continue to excel. PWCS students’ overall mean score of 1100 is up 3 points from last year and 51 points higher than the overall score for public school graduates nationwide.

“We are pleased to see our student performance in math and reading/writing exceed the national average,” said Michael Mulgrew, associate superintendent for high schools. “We continue to see improvement, demonstrating the college readiness of our students.”

PWCS Highlights:
  • Black students in PWCS outperformed peers in Virginia and nationwide in all three areas.
  • Six high schools exceeded the overall mean score in Virginia and nationwide (Battlefield, Brentsville District, Colgan, Forest Park, Osbourn Park, and Patriot).
  • Five of our high schools scored higher than the state and national average in all three areas (Battlefield, Brentsville District, Forest Park, Osbourn Park, and Patriot).
