  1. Broad purpose of course:  The intent of this course is to provide students with opportunities to acquire mathematical knowledge and skills necessary for continued mathematical education and postsecondary experiences that will be required for a demanding, technological 21st century.  These opportunities will enable the student to value mathematics, gain confidence in their mathematical ability, become problem solvers, and to communicate and reason mathematically.

**This course is an extension of the Algebra 2 curriculum and will include four Units of Trigonometry.  This is a fast-paced course embedding rigorous learning experiences and enrichment throughout the school year.  It is expected that students come to this class with a hard work ethic as well as a strong foundation in Algebra.
