Hi, my name is Graham Bagshaw and I will be solely responsible for the Cambridge AICE Higher Math 1 classes and I will also be teaching 2 classes of Algebra 1 with Mr Foster as my co-teacher this year. This will be my 20th year of teaching. Where does the time go?
I completed my education in the English Comprehensive school system and got a first class honors degree for Mathematics from the University of Central Lancashire. I completed my teacher training qualification at the very well respected St Luke’s School of Education at the University of Exeter. In the last few years I have completed the 40 hour SMART master teacher program and also completed 60 hours of training course on E.L. too. Last Summer I also completed a 90 hour course at George Mason relating to techniques used in Algebra for Middle and High School. This Summer I once again was part of the Summer School remediation for Algebra 1 here at Potomac
I am a huge sport fan and love baseball with the Boston Red Sox being the team I follow the closest. I am married and have 2 children, Mason who is 8 and just about to enter 3rd grade and has initials MLB, and Jackson 2 ½ years old whose middle name is David a nod to the 2013 World Series MVP of the Red Sox: David Ortiz. Being from England I am also a huge football (aka soccer) fan and will once again closely be following the fortunes of Liverpool FC.
In class I believe in clear instruction, backed up with hard work from the students being the key to a successful school year. If there are issues address them quickly, do not let them mount.
