This page is for you to know what we have covered for the year and what needs to be done as we move forward for the rest of the school year.  It contains information on how to reach me, as well as information on accessing google classroom for Nutrition and Wellness. I encourage each of you (parents and students) to check your email frequently for weekly/daily communication from me.  I also encourage everyone to visit the pwcs.edu website frequently to stay current on what is happening in our county, and read any updates from Dr. Waltz.  In advance, I thank you for your patience and flexibility during this uncertain time. Course Description: Students enrolled in Nutrition and Wellness focus on making choices that promote wellness and good health, analyzing relationships between psychological and social needs and food choice; choosing foods that promote wellness; obtaining and storing food for self and family; preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks; selecting and using equipment for food preparation; and identifying strategies to promote optimal nutrition and wellness of society. Critical thinking, practical problem solving, and entrepreneurship opportunities within the area of nutrition and wellness are emphasized. Teachers highlight the basic skills of math, science, and communication when appropriate in the content.
